Our approach starts with developing a new vision of the future of your organization and inspiring the senior managers of your company to become unified in building the future. The vision needs to focus on strategic advantages - identifying your unique competitive advantage.

There are an untold number of products and services that compete in the market place. Your vision must clearly define how you will distinguish your products or services from all of the others into a unique - unto itself - strategic advantage. Without distinguishing characteristics there can be no competitive advantage. Vision focuses attention on the critical strategic advantages - it paints a picture of where you want the organization to go and what you want it to be - and the major activities that will get you there.

The strategic vision will lead to:

  • a customer-oriented growth strategy based on a defined value proposition unique to your organization
  • an assessment of the factors that drive customer values
  • building the necessary capabilities and competencies
as the framework for your company's growth strategy.

In our approach the development of your organization's vision is built on a foundation of understanding market trends of the competition, of customers, and the organization itself. We will work side-by-side with your managers to clarify issues, redefine ideas, and help shape them. We will provide them with a strategic screening process that will help your managers evaluate the choices available to your company by:

  • determining which choices will have the greatest impact and
  • assessing the difficulty in implementation

The vision statement is expressed in words. Words are important - but not enough - How the words get written is just as important as what gets written.

In our approach widespread participation and authorship will empower your managers. Empowering visions do not come down from the mountain top - engraved in stone. Rather they are shaped - crafted - developed in cooperation with your managers who will live it and become committed to it. The vision is developed through an interactive process.

The result of our approach is a business plan that will ensure that your company's strategic vision can be turned into action and accountability.

Getting started

In a one day workshop your senior managers will have an opportunity to evaluate your organization's strategy (explicit or implicit), planning activities, its impact on operations and business performance. Based on the assessment of your senior managers and the outcomes they want to achieve from strategic planning, we will design a planning process to meet your unique requirements.
